Get together with other club members for some Street Photography in Tacoma. We will gather at the Tacoma Glass museum at 11:00 am. 35mm and 50mm are popular lenses for Street Photography. Bring a small tripod if you plan to do some long exposure shots that don’t include camera movement.

Sunset Photoshoot with Option for Panorama

Looking for a different place for sunset photos. The Narrows Bridge is it! It and the surrounding area gave some excellent viewpoints that will make great photographs.

We will meet at War Memorial Park also known as Narrows Park & Ride located on 6th Ave & N Skyline Dr. at 7:30 pm. We will have a short instructional seminar on sunset photos and panoramas.

Golden Hour will start at 8:17 pm. Sunset is at 9:04 pm. Blue Hour starts at 9:29 pm and ends at 9:45 pm. Moonrise is at 6:00 pm. and will be at Waxing Gibbous (85.8%)

What to bring: Camera, Wide Angle & Telephoto Lenses, Tripod with Ballhead with circle measurement capability, Good walking shoes and a Windbreaker.

Film Noir Photoshoot

Molly is planning a Film Noir photoshoot at the Sumner Train Station starting at 6pm on Saturday, February 19, 2022. The Sumner Train Station is located at 810 Maple St. in Sumner. Film Noir lighting is what you saw in the 1940’s movies. Usually hard light, deep shadows and high contrast. Sign-up and join your friends for this fun filled evening.

What to Bring: Your camera gear, your trench coat and hat along with any clothing in the 1940’s style.

Automobile Photo Shoot

Andrew has something different planned for us. We are able to go to the Thunder Dome Auto Museum any time on Saturday, January 15 between 10am to 5pm. The Thunder Dome is located at 1920 Garrett St. in Enumclaw. Andrew plans to arrive around 2pm and I plan to be there when they open at 10am. So get together with your friends and join us at the Thunder Dome. This will be a great time to take your pictures for the February Assignment of Planes, Trains & Autos.

There is a $10 entrance fee.

What to Bring: Your camera gear which may include tripod & flash. Don’t forget your $10.

We will be getting together at Kerry Park at 6:30 pm to photograph the Seattle skyline. The park is located between 2nd and 3rd Ave W on West Highland Dr. on Queen Ann Hill in Seattle. We may also walk down to Bayview-Kennear Park for more photo opportunities.

Sunset is at 7:29 pm.

What to Bring: Camera with a wide angle lens and a tripod. As always dress for the weather.

Carpool: As parking usually is a problem in this area carpooling is advised.

Long Exposure & Street Photography Showing Motion

We will be having a special guest leading this event: Danny Crelling (checkout his photography on Facebook and Instagram) We will be meeting at the Glass Museum located at 1801 Dock Street in Tacoma. We will gather at the East end of the foot bridge crossing Hwy 705 . Danny will be giving us instruction on long exposure street photography and then we will be going out on Pacific Ave and trying what we just learned.

Bring your camera with lens between 15 to 70 mm, tripod, remote shutter release, neutral density filters if you have them. Several planned photos will require getting your camera very low to the ground, so plan accordingly.

Masks will be required and to help with the social distancing we will be limiting the signups to 20, so if this type of photography interests you sign up early.

Dress for the cold and rain.

Creative Artistic Shadow Workshop

This workshop will be held at Molly Sauro-Williams Studio, located at 22205 Entwhistle Rd E., Buckley. We will be photographing shadows, which just happen to be our photo assignment for October, and experimenting with the creative use of colored shadows thru the use of gels.

Wear your mask, bring your camera and tripod along with a gobo or two (something you put between the light and where you want to project the shadow). The plans as of right now are to have 5 photographing stations - 3 inside and 2 outside.

Please sign-up early as this workshop will be limited to 15 to maintain social distancing.

Spring Flowers Photo Field Trip: Postponed

Martha has selected the Soos Creek Botanical Garden and Heritage Center for your Spring Flowers photo field trip.  The garden is located at 29308 132nd Ave SE, Auburn, WA.   We will gather at 10 am when the garden opens.  The non-profit garden does ask for a $3 donation.

Bring your camera and tripod for a fun filled outing.
