Falling Up

Shot on a Nikon D750 with a 24-120mm lens set at 75mm. I also used 2 Nikon SB-R200 flashes. No cropping or processing other than converting it from raw to jpeg.

I saw a video about photo ideas, and it showed painting alphabet soup pasta.  I though I would try that.  The hardest part was painting the back side of the pasta.  I had to flip each of the 200 or so letters over one by one.

The photo I originally wanted to take was a close up of letters bouncing off of an open book.  I just couldn’t get a good shot of that. While I was doing that, I noticed my daughter’s Falling Up book on the shelf and came up with the idea of the photo.

It was fun play on the Falling Up theme.  I tried different backgrounds and the dining table looked the best.  I had to use a step ladder to get high enough to take the photo, almost to ceiling level.
